Privacy and cookies

This page explains what data the website ilboccondivino.it processes, why and for how long, under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

In short
- The website uses no profiling cookies and no third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel).
- We only collect personal data if you sign up for the friends card.
- The Book, Event quote and Takeaway pages do not store your name, phone number or notes: they prepare a message that you send, if you wish, via WhatsApp.
- We count anonymously how many people use these pages, without cookies and without IP addresses.
1. Browsing data
Like every website, the server hosting the pages (Aruba S.p.A., our hosting provider) automatically records some technical data about visits, such as IP address, date and time, page requested and browser type. They are needed for the site to work securely; we do not use them to identify you. Legal basis: legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). They are kept for the period set by the hosting provider.
2. Anonymous statistics
On the Book, Event quote and home pages we record anonymously the steps taken (for example: occasion chosen, date and number of guests requested, set menu chosen, whether the WhatsApp button or a promotional notice was tapped). We do not record name, phone number, notes, IP address or cookies: this data cannot identify you and only helps us improve the service.
3. Booking, quote and takeaway requests
When you tap "Send on WhatsApp", the website opens WhatsApp with a ready-written message containing the details you entered (for example name, phone number, date, number of guests, items ordered, collection time, notes on intolerances or seating). The website does not keep this data: the message is only sent if you decide to send it, via the WhatsApp service (WhatsApp Ireland Ltd., Meta group), which processes it under its own policy.
When we receive the message, we use the data to reply and to manage your booking or quote (legal basis: pre-contractual measures and performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Any allergy or intolerance information you choose to share is used only to prepare safe dishes for you. We keep conversations for as long as needed to handle the request and meet legal obligations.
The same applies if you contact us by phone or email.
Friends card
If you sign up for the friends card we collect: first and last name, WhatsApp number, email (optional), the day and month of your birthday and, if you choose to give them, your name day, your anniversary, and the first name, birthday and name day of your partner and children. We do not ask for the year of birth. Only enter your partner's details if they agree.
- To run the card (member number, welcome discount, discounts for your special days): legal basis is the service you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To send you wishes and offers on WhatsApp or by email: only if you gave consent with the dedicated tick box (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by writing to us, and keep your card.
The data is stored on the website server in an archive that cannot be reached from the web, viewable only by restaurant staff with a password, and is not passed to third parties. It is kept for as long as you keep the card; you can ask for it to be deleted at any time. Your partner's and children's details are used only to send wishes and to recognise the discount on their dates.
Card check. In the event quote and the table booking you can enter your card number and phone number: the website compares them with the archive and, if they match, shows your first name with the initial of your surname and the discount you are entitled to. The request is not stored. To block automated attempts, failed attempts are counted for 15 minutes, keeping only an encrypted fingerprint of the connection address, which is then deleted.
4. Cookies and browser storage
The website sets no profiling or third-party cookies. It only uses technical tools:
- Browser local storage to remember small preferences: whether you closed the language notice, the "add to Home Screen" notice or a promotional notice; if you have a friends card, the link to your card or the card number and phone number you verified, so the website recognises you next time; if you started a takeaway order, the items chosen, your name and phone number, so you do not lose them if you close the page. This data stays on your phone only. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings.
- App and offline mode: the browser keeps a copy of the pages you visited so they can be shown offline.
- Staff area (restaurant staff only): a technical session cookie for login.
5. Links to other websites
The website links to Google Maps, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and WhatsApp. Opening them takes you to those services, which process data under their own policies.
6. Your rights
You can ask at any time for access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing or object to it, by writing to locandailboccondivino@gmail.com (Arts. 15–22 GDPR). If you believe the processing is not lawful, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it).
